I love the soul that Lauren Daigle puts into her songs. Whenever I sing her worship music it makes me feel even more connected to the Holy Spirit.

This song was written based on how I personally am inspired to write based on how I’m feeling and my way of expressing things to God. What the words state except the beginnings is exactly what I do when I’m writing. I’m crying out or I need of Gods guidance.

The greatest gift to humanity is the love of God. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son.." We have done nothing to deserve this love, but embrace it fully. I believe that this will bless you as much as it blesses me. God loves you! ❤️

I wrote this song as a reflection of who I am, today, in light of what Christ did for me some 2000 years ago. "I Was There" is a song speaking to me being there that day that Jesus died. He died for my specific sins, to pardon me personally, and so, in a real sense, I was there.
