"Take Me to the River" is an original song about redemption. The lyrics are filled with hope, sharing the power of surrendering and giving God all the glory for a new beginning with Him through baptism.

During a time in my life marked by profound loss and pain, I wrote this original song. In the depths of my suffering, I found peace only in calling upon the name of Jesus. My hope is that this song will resonate with those navigating their own trials and tribulations. Matthew 11:28-30

This song resonates God's never ending love & relentlessness in fighting on behalf of His children. We don't have to take on our battles, because the battle belongs to God, and He will always WIN! Whatever we face, God is fighting for us behind the scenes; ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR OUR GOOD!

I chose this song because it means a lot to me. I was born 3 months early and along with being premature comes several health issues. My birth mother was not in her right mind when she gave me life and severely abused me in infancy and early toddlerhood (Thankfully it was just me and not my two younger sisters, she did it to). In October of 1998, my younger sister and I were removed from her home and placed with a young couple who had our youngest sister whom we didn’t know existed at the time. In September of 1999, that young couple became our forever family. I’ve known, I was adopted my entire life and grew up in church and a private Christian school, but it wasn’t until 2016 when I realized what God meant by “I’m not ready for you yet.” "Nearer, My God, To Thee" is a song that I have known my entire life and can relate personally. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2016 and felt the arms of the Lord surround me and my mom in that doctor’s office and ever since then, I’ve always felt Him even more, so in my life than I have before. Nothing like a walk in the country at night time looking up at the stars and personal time with God. It inspired me to write a song about it.
