I chose “I’ll Fly Away” because it’s familiar, joyful, and I can sing and play it on my fiddle. I’ve sung it at karaoke, folks seem to love it when I start flapping my arms and try “flying away” for real. I’ve even seen a man at church walking and flying around every time our praise band played it!

I decided to put my own twist on “To Build A Home” by The Cinematic Orchestra. I truly allowed God to use me to send this message as a reminder that He is preparing a home for us. We must prepare ourselves for His coming because He is who He says He is — He is God.

This is my live performance. I wrote this song during one of the hardest seasons of my life while going through my divorce. I felt alone and unsupported, but God never left me. He gave me these songs in the middle of the pain. No matter what you face, worship Him anyway—your praise is a weapon.
