I’m really excited to share with you all a new song that is out TODAY!!

The story of the prodigal son has always been one of my favorite stories. I think it’s because I have always related to the younger son in that I have always strived to do things my own way in hopes that I could prove that I’m worthy of something. For most of my life I have wrestled with the dichotomy of striving to earn God’s grace while at the same time recognizing that I never could. As a firstborn, I had perfectionist tendencies which on the positive side caused me to try to serve God as best as I could but on the negative side caused me to be bound in shame and guilt everytime I fell short.

To me the beauty of the story of the prodigal son is that no matter how far we fall, the fathers arms are open wide, ready to take us back into the family as though we had never left. I’ve learned a lot on this journey, and maybe the biggest thing I’ve learned is that, failing does not make me a failure, that a righteous man falls seven times but gets back up each time! And while he’s still working on me here on this earth, I know I‘m on my way home to the love of a Father that nothing can separate me from!
