I chose this song because it reminds us of who God says we are when doubt and insecurity creep in. Singing it is my way of sharing a message I've had to believe for myself, and I hope it can encourage you too.

Hey guys my name is Brighten Polnick and I come from Magnolia, Texas; I have been in church my whole life and I am a testimony of God's goodness in my life, because when I was born I could not talk or eat or anything. I started talking at 4 years old and I started walking at 2 years old.

We chose this song, well for practical reasons, it was the first one we recorded together and the only one I have of us singing together. But also because it’s a song based straight from scripture and prayer over anyone listening.

I used this song for an ACSI adjudication. I chose this song because I thought it was a beautiful hymn. People tell me that I have a similar tone to my voice as Carrie Underwood, so when I heard the Carrie Underwood version, I instantly fell in love with the song and wanted to learn it.

Song I can so resonate with. I’ve had to learn to surrender things to God and give up complete control. I’ve had to find my strength in Him; in my weakness He’s been strong, He has taken me out of the darkest moments of my life. I’m still a work in progress every day, but He is my light ❤️
