I wrote this song as a reflection of who I am, today, in light of what Christ did for me some 2000 years ago. "I Was There" is a song speaking to me being there that day that Jesus died. He died for my specific sins, to pardon me personally, and so, in a real sense, I was there.

Sometimes, all you can do is call on the name of JESUS.

This song has always expressed perfectly exactly what Jesus has done for me. He has made me "Clean." I have original songs that I express this in, but I have none with a live recording available at the moment.
