This song is an original that I wrote over the last year. It is a dedication to my mother, who passed in 2016, and would always respond to me with “never, never ever”. When I was young, I would ask when God’s love ends or when does He give up on us. She would say, “Never, never ever!”

I wrote this song recently as a surrender of control to Jesus. I was struggling to understand some of the things happening in my life and around me, and as I prayed, I felt peace and a reminder that it’s not in my control. He is all I need: my understanding, my peace, my joy, all of it!

ELLE was a Jesus-loving theater kid. When she heard of ‘Hamilton’ she began rewriting the songs about the life of Jesus per the Bible. Theses are ELLE’s lyrics to the music of ‘My Shot’ originally by Lin-Manuel Miranda. She calls it ‘My God, from the perspective of Jesus and other Biblical figures.
