“Over All” by Until Completion

“Over All” was written during the summer of 2020, when I realized that I didn’t have as much control over my life as I would’ve believed to have. I felt anxious more frequently, stress at an all time high, and didn’t find any way back down from it. However, it was when I remembered the truth in God’s word that His ways are higher than my ways and His thoughts are higher than my thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9) that I began to let go of what I had a tight grip on…my life. I’m learning that my life as a Christian is not just about surrendering once when I accepted Christ, but at every moment that comes where I have the choice to let Christ lead, or let my own sinful actions lead it. So, I wrote this song as a reminder and call to bring myself back to the foot of the cross, remembering who is SOVEREIGN, GOOD, and in COMPLETE CONTROL…and that I am not. Only by HIS grace and HIS kindness am I made new, and given a peace that surpasses ALL understanding (Philippians 4:9). I pray that this song will encourage you to cast your cares into the loving hands of a God and father who loves you dearly. And if you’re like me and have a hard time letting go of the plans you had for your life, I pray this song would be the guidance to give up to Christ with lifted hands.
