What’s the Most fun you’ve had serving others? I’m a serial volunteer, from volunteering to joining the Marines at age 17 to volunteering as a scout leader to civic and veterans organizations. As a Junior in Highschool I decided on what I wanted to to after High School. Before this when I was younger I thought of a few professions like the Police, Para-Military or Preacher. I sought after the military. Went so far as doing my due diligence researching all branches of the military talking with each recruiter. The recruiter that stood out amongst them all was the spit polished, quick witted, barking words esprit de corps, so I chose the Corps. I still had a year to before finishing school and before I could even volunteer of my own free will. I had to get a parent to co-sign my life away. My dad was unwilling at first unless I could prove to him I was ready and after writing a letter explaining my will to serve. In the Marines I did get to travel the world, meet new and interesting people. If you get anything out of today’s message, know that we do not live for ourselves, we serve God by serving others.”
